How are Integrated Care Systems unlocking the potential of data analytics?

Integrated Care Systems (ICSs) are central to the delivery of the NHS Long Term Plan. With a growing number of ICSs, the need to greater understand the health needs of local populations has never been higher.

The most advanced ICSs are using the potential of data analytics to gain a better understanding of the health needs of their local populations. They are unlocking the power of population health analytics to improve the quality, efficiency, and equity of care that is being delivered. But how?

Join Imperial College Health Partners at The Digital Healthcare Show part of Health Plus Care, on Wednesday 26 June, where our Deputy Director of Business Intelligence, Andi Orlowski, will be chairing a session of panel experts at the forefront of developing ICSs in England.

This session will delve into what it really means to be a fully functioning population healthcare system, with practical lessons on how to create one from the best examples out there. Speakers will take you through the steps to planning and delivering effective population health care, the risk stratification tools to deploy, the expertise to harness, the partners to work with, the challenges you may encounter and the measureable benefits for the NHS, patients and local communities.

From predicting and avoiding hospital admissions for high-risk populations, such as the elderly and patients with multiple long-term conditions, to improving outcomes, controlling demand and reducing inequalities across whole populations, this session will showcase some of the most successful targeted population health interventions taking place at system, place and neighbourhood level from the UK and abroad.

Andi said: “I’m delighted to be chairing this session on population health management and how to make it a reality across ICSs.

“It is my passion for everyone working in these areas to understand the power of population health analytics to truly understand their local populations.

“This session gives the opportunity to bring this to life through exploring our work, hearing from people who are currently developing integrated care, share in their learnings and explore how we can collaborate to improve population health.”

The panel will include experts from ICS areas across England and the partners they are working with to build the systems.

It will also include a presentation from Deputy Director of Strategy at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust, Daniel Leveson, on using data to design and deliver integrated care in North Buckinghamshire.

Daniel said: “We’re coming to The Digital Healthcare Show to talk about where we are on our journey to develop integrated health care in north Bucks.

“It feels like we’re at the beginning of this. We have worked with ICHP and now it would be really interesting to hear what other people are doing, and share our experiences along the way.”

The session will be between 2.45-4pm in the ICS Hub
